Fishin' with a mission
The Federation
of Christian Anglers and Sportsmen (F.O.C.A.S.) is a nonprofit organization with
the goal to provide people in the community the opportunity to participate in
and be exposed to the wonderful sport of fishing and promote family and
Christian values.
F.O.C.A.S. holds
fishing events throughout the year to minister to the entire family. All
events emphasize a Christian environment and family activities. F.O.C.A.S.
President, Rev. David Harbison feels the goal of F.O.C.A.S. is to keep the
family together and so the mission is to provide the activities that promote
this goal.
F.O.C.A.S. was
formed in 1992 and is sponsored by A Glorious Church Fellowship, Belleville, IL;
Taylor Marine, Belleville, IL; Brush Hawg Bait & Tackle, Millstadt IL;
Ocean Waves Sunglasses; Wayne's Props, Mount Vernon IL; Adventure Sports

Open Buddy Bass
Tournaments are held on Saturday to allow the fishermen to fish on Saturday and
still spend time with his family on Sunday. Wives and children are
encouraged to accompany their husbands and fathers to the tournaments and
participate in the activities offered for them while dad
fishes.
The 2007
Tournament Schedule dates are, 1. April 14th, Lake Egypt - Pyramid Acres; April
28th, Kinkaid Lake - Kinkaid Marina; June 2nd, Golconda - Smithland Pool: June
30th, Carlyle Lake - Dam West Access; CLASSIC TO BE held at Rend Lake on the 3rd
& 4th of August.
F.O.C.A.S.
conducts Fishing Derbies and Casting for Kids for the children. Casting for Kids
allows the children to compete for accurate casting onto a target with the
possibility of winning a trophy for the high score.
Fishing Derbies
are held allowing children, some who have never held a fishing pole in their
hands, the experience of catching the "big one". There will be Derbies (to
be announced) held during the 2007 season.
F.O.C.A.S. is
looking for quality fishermen to participate in our tournaments. The 2007
season has a lot in store for fishermen, families, youth, and elderly.
This may even be an opportunity to change someone's world as you help
F.O.C.A.S. reach the goal of "Fishin' With a Mission."
