WIN AT CARLYLE
LAKE
The Federation of Christian Anglers and Sportsmen (F.O.C.A.S.)
launched 81 boats from Dam West on June 11th. At weigh-in time, 52 teams brought
fish to the scales totaling 308.38 lbs. Out of the 156 fish weighed, 11 teams
brought in limits from the lake. There was lots of rain and humidity for the
anglers during the day.

Long time
F.O.C.A.S. anglers John Adair and Ken Farley, from Waterloo, IL took top honors
with their 11.46 lb. Limit. Fishing crankbaits on the south shore and Point 2
Zone they report catching 10 fish all day. Four keepers by 9:30 a..m. and then
adding their final keeper to the well by 11:30 a.m. brought this team a total
check of $1,500.00.

Josh Blank,
from Marissa, IL and Derik Owen from Smithton, IL brought a 10.69 limit to the
scale for 2nd place. Using chartreuse spinner baits they caught four and
finished it up with a crankbait. The day earned them a check for
$1000.00.

Another
limit for the 3rd place winners, Cody Hillyard of Collinsville, IL and John
Becker of Granite City, IL earned them $700 for their 10.51 lb. They also were
on the south shore all day using spinner baits and jigs. This team is sponsored
by Bluff City Tackle, Alton, IL and the 111 Prop Shop of Granite City, IL.

Big Bass winners were Father and son team in the partner division,
Gerald and JJ Zmudzinski of Tamaroa, IL and Waterloo, IL. J J caught a 4.32 lb.
winner early in the morning on the west bank at the mouth of Allen Branch on a
spinnerbait. Big Bass paid out $486.00 and add this to the teams’ 6th place win,
they had a pay day of $786.00.

Father
and son team in the Family Division, Chris and 8 year old Joey Bardill,
Highland, IL took 9th place and 2nd Big Bass with a weight of 4.23lbs. Joey
caught his first tournament keeper this tournie and I’m sure has plans for the
earnings of $324.00 for 2nd Big Bass and $110.00 for 9th place, which total
$434.00.

The
remaining paying positions were reported as follows:

You can still fish the Classic with us if you get in on the remaining four tournaments, two in Illinois and two and Missouri. Classic dates are September 30th and October 1st. Next MO. tournament will be July 9th at Pomme de Terre, launching from Harbor Lighthouse at first safe light. On the Illinois side, we will “see you at the river” on August 20th, Kaskaskia River, launching from New Athens at first safe light.
July 16th will be our F.O.C.A.S. Kids’ Fishing Derby at Bellevue Park, by Memorial Hospital, in Belleville, IL. This is a free event for the community for three age categories, 0-7, 8-12 and 13-16. Lunch will be provided for all participating kids. Bring your own rods, or they will be provided. This is a great family day and is growing every year.
