F.O.C.A.S. RENDLAKE WINNERS

Launching 90 boats for the second tournament of the season in The Federation of Christian Anglers and Sportsmen (F.O.C.A.S.) Illinois division the day ended up with  121 of fish being caught by 50  teams with a total of  303.1 pounds.

Team Mueller, Swansea, IL and Volkerding , Shiloh, IL brought back a 19.77 limit to the scale at the end of the day to take top honors in the F.O.C.A.S. Illinois Division tournament.  They caught their limit half way up the left side of the main lake. Using spinner baits and catching them early in the day, they were already culling by 9:05.  End of day earnings was  a check for $2,120.

 

Second place team, Keith Cloe of Sesser, IL and Chuck Gardner of West Frankfurt, IL went north and flipped tubes and jigs all day.  This proved to be successful for them as they brough back a 15.04 limit to the scales.  They had five keepers by 10:00.

Pay day for them was $1,350.  They are sponsored by Cloe Chiropractic Center in Mount Vernon, IL.

Rick Lingle of Ava, IL and Mark Holt of Gorham, IL won the third place spot, but it was enough to help them keep their Angler of the Year point lead in the Illinois Partner Division.  Fishing in Jackie Branch and Gun Creek during the day they caught their limit using spinnerbaits and jigs taking home a check for $940.   They report Cope Marine, O'Fallon, IL as their sponsor.   

Big Bass winners were Jeff Zimmerman and Mike Thompson, Sparta, IL.  Big Bass weighing in at 5.86 pounds brought their total to 10.70 poiunds which also earned them 9th place.  They caught the winner around 8:00 in the north end of the lake on a lizard around a bush.  Big Bass check for $528 plus $170 for placing, earned them a total of  $698 for the day.

5TH PLACE: TAYLOR AND SCHEICH, 4 fish,11.81, $540

6TH PLACE: MALONE AND LOGUE ,4 fish 11.29, $400

 

 

7TH PLACE BYRNES AND BYRNES: 4 fish 11.05, $270

 

 

8TH PLACE : WATKINS AND ODOM 4 fish 10.92, $200

 

 

9TH PLACE ZIMMERMAN THOMPSON: 3 fish 10.70, $170

 

 

10TH PLACE : POWERS AND BUMAN 4 fish 10.08 LBS $100

 

 

2ND BIG BASS: DESHERLIA AND MAURICE 5.69 LBS $352

You have to fish four tournaments to qualify for the F.O.C.A.S. Classic on September 30th  and October 1st.  With four remaining tournaments in the Illinois Division and three in the Missouri you still have time to quality.  There is an Open Division available to ensure you make your four and earn points for the Angler of the Year race.

June tournament for Missouri division will be June 4th at Truman Lake, launching from Sterett Creek and June 11th at Carlyle Lake, launching from Dam West.  Only July tournament will be in Missouri on the 9th at Pomme De Terre.
