UNSWORTHS TAKE FIRST AT KASKASKIA
FATHER/DAUGHTER TEAM,
STEVE AND MELISSA
Fifty-eight
boats launched from New Athens ramp on August 28 and 35 of those teams brought
back fish to the scale. Total weight on those 90 fish was 156.61lbs.
It was a good day on the river for those who participated in
the final qualifying tournament of the F.O.C.A.S. season. Total pay out
for this F.O.C.A.S. tournament was $4,050.00.

First place
honors go to Steve and his 13-year-old daughter, Melissa Unsworth from Auburn,
IL. with a total weight of 10.73. Bringing in a limit they fished
the ox bow using salt crawls and a spinnerbait. Steve contributed 3
fish and Melissa 2 which brought them a check for $1,250 for the
day.

Father and son
team of Roland and Chad Drumm of Mascouth, IL also brought a limit to the
scale weighing in at 8.75 lbs. They earned $800 for their limit, plus another
$342 and a Wizard Rod for Big Bass with a weight of 4.68. They report using Baby
Brush Hawgs on wood during the day. This team is sponsored by Belleville Sport
Sales and Open Season, both of Belleville. Belleville Sports and
Open Season are also F.O.C.A.S. sponsors.

Third place went
to the team of Dean Brand and Brian Spinnie of Red Bud and Coulterville, IL.
They report using crankbaits and tubes in the oxbow. Total
weight for this team was 8.38 and their check was for $600, plus another $228
and an Outlaw Rod for winning 2nd Big Bass with a weight of 4.58.

place…….Davis and Wissehr, 4 fish, 7.79, $280

The day ended
with the F.O.C.A.S. fish fry for anglers and their family. F.O.C.A.S.
members fried up fish and fries and fed the crowd for free. Thanks to all
of you who participate and help make our tournaments the best in the
area.
Those who have
fished four of our tournaments qualify for the Classic and will be competing for
100% pay back on the tournament on October 9th. Come on out and enjoy the
Kids activities and visit the vendors at the show. There will be a
fishpond, casting pond, paint ball and archery for the kids. There is no
admission at the door so everyone can join us for this annual big event.
B.A.S.S. pro anglers, Shaw Grigsby, Bob Hamilton and Mark Rose will
be back this year for seminars and to officiate the weigh in at 3:00 on the
9th.
