2004 kIDS fISHING dERBY



The Fish Were Biting At The
F.O.C.A.S. Kid's Fishing Derby       

     The fifth annual Kids' Fishing Derby at Bellevue Park, Belleville was a huge success.  There were 119 registered anglers from ages 3-16. The young anglers with their families cheering them on fished from 10 am until 2 pm. Lots of fish were measured from blue gill to one big ole bass. Thanks to Poppy's Bait, Belleville for donating the bait again this year.




     The busy anglers took a break during the event to eat lunch which  was provided for all the particpants Thanks to Schnucks for donating the hot dogs for the event.

     Cashing in their fishin' bucks for prizes is always a favorite of the kids.  McDonalds, Columbia donated several toys for the anglers to get by cashing in their bucks.





     Along with the fishing the F.O.C.A.S. paint ball shoot and archery shoot were present for the kids to enjoy.  





     While the points were being tallied, several prizes were thrown out into the crowd and several draw prizes were awarded in each age category.  First National Bank, Millstadt donated frisbees and cash to purchase prizes.  The frisbees, Cardinal baseballs and plastic bait, donated by F.O.C.A.S. angler, Ed Flanigan were tossed out for the kids to catch.

     Plaques were awarded to First and Second place winners in each age division, along with a grand prize for the First place winners in each group.  

Children's Division, ages 7 and under winners:  



First place, Anthony Johns, who took home a bike and helmet, donated by First Flight, Belleville.  





Second Place went to Omaree Ridley.




Jr. Youth Division, ages 8-12:  



First place, John Harbison, who took home a boom box .



Second Place went to Jacob Dallas.  




Youth Division, ages 13-16:  



First Place, Danyell Harris, who won a $50 savings bond donated by West Pointe Bank, Belleville.  




Second place went to Danny Parks.




     F.O.C.A.S. is proud to provide the community each year this free event in order to allow families to spend time together in a positive atmosphere.  

     F.O.C.A.S. continues to be "Fishin' With A Mission."  Thanks to all that donated for this event, you may have been a part in helping change someone's life.
