F.O.C.A.S. 2004 Season Kicks off
with
84 Boat Field
JENKEL AND ATCHISON
TAKE FIRST PLACE

The team of Duke Jenkel, Pickneyville, IL and Jeff Atchison, Ina, IL
took first place and first Big Bass honors at the March 13th F.O.C.A.S.
tournament on Lake Egypt. Their limit weighed in at 14.31 lbs. with their Big
Bass weighing in at 5.69 lbs. Taking home a check for $1,665 plus another $504
for Big Bass earned them a total of $2169.00 for the day, plus a Wizard
Rod, donated by F.O.C.A.S. sponsor, Wizard Rods. Fishing the mid lake area and
using Carolina rigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits during the day they caught
their first fish around 10:30 and the last one around 2:00. This team is
sponsored by Cotton Mouth Lures and Svanda Chevrolet, Sparta.
Launching 84 boats in the cold morning brought 58 of those boats back
to the scale, with 10 of those bringing in limits. A total of 255.34 lbs. of
fish were weighed in.

Husband and wife team of Bob and Melody Swisher took second place with
a limit and a weight of 11.79 lbs. They caught fish all day using Carlolina
rigged centipedes. This team has been fishing together for 16 years. F.O.C.A.S.
encourages anglers to fish with their spouse or their child. Second place
brought them a check for $1,000.00 This team is sponsored by Rend Lake Sporting
Goods, Mt. Vernon.

Father and son team, Randy Duke Sr. and Randy Duke Jr. took Third
place with a weight of 11.53. Catching fish all day and using spinnerbaits they
earned a check for $700.00.

Fourth place with a weight of 10.91 went to Tony Ferranto and Michael
Todd who won a check for $500.

5th place by Tom Boschert and Jason Cox, 9.81lbs.,

6th place by Chris Bardill and George Panick, 8.91 lbs.,
$300

7th place by Mark Dill and Tim Pruett, 7.93 lbs.,
$200

8th place by Ed Helf and Rusty Recihardt, 7.83 lbs, $150

9th place Bruce and Mike Masters, 7.28 lbs, $125. The Masters also won
Second Big Bass with 4.50 lbs.weighed in and they earned a check for $336.00,
making their total for the day$461.00, plus an Outlaw Rod donated by F.O.C.A.S.
sponsor A-Z.
During weigh in all the anglers enjoyed chili provided by F.O.C.A.S.
The next tournament will be on Kinkaid Lake on April 17th. F.O.C.A.S. has two
Angler of the Year divisions with the winners awarded at the Classic in October.
Partner division and Family division is determined by a point system. Fishing
four tournaments will qualify you for the Classic.
