2003 Kaskaskia

 


This tournament was dedicated to Norma Kennedy
who was murdered on 08-16-03.
Ms. Kennedy's grandson, Michael Deien is one
of our local anglers.



F.O.C.A.S.' final tournament of the 2003 season was held on August 23rd on the Kaskaskia River. Forty eight boats launched from the New Athens marina at 6:00 a.m. At the end of the very warm day, 25 boats weighed fish. A total of 41 bass were caught this tournament. A fish fry was held for all participants and family members after the weigh in.





Taking first place honors was the team of Shannon Stiebel and Darren Schmidt with a total of 6.78lbs. of fish for a payout of $1,209.60. Add to that First Big Bass weighing 4.61 and adding another $288 to their pay for a total of $1,497.60. All First place Big Bass winners are also awarded a Wizard Rod valued at $160.00





Second place was earned by the team of Daniel Deutchmann and Jacob Scanlon with a weight of 4.48lbs earning them a check for $864.00.





The team of Joe Fritts and Jason Smith took Third Place with a weight of 4.11lbs and earned $432.00.





Father and son team of Jim and Josh Jenkins won Fourth place with a weight of 3.78 lbs. Their pay day was $288.00.





Husband and wife team of George and Marty Fudge took Fifth place for the tournament for a 3.69 bass and earned $144.00.





Second Big Bass was won by Father and son team of Rev. David Harbison and John Harbison. Their 2.62 bass earned them $192.00.
