Sixty
boats launched at 7 a.m. on April 12th at Lake Kinkaid. and first place honors
went to the team of Duke Jenkel and Jeff Atchison. The team weighed in the only
limit for a total weight of 14.23 pounds.They report fishing crankbaits on
points and docks. Their pay for the day was $1,404.00.
Thirty one boats weighed a total of 56 fish with a total weight of 187.79 pounds for the tournament.
Taking second place was the husband and wife team of Skip and Angela Dechau with a weight of 11.95 and pay of $828.00.
Third place honors went to the team of Tim Wiley and Chuck Gardner with a weight of 10.76 and a check for $612.00.
Fourth place was won by Gregg Ellett and Bill Griffiths with 9.30 lbs. and $360.00.
The team of Bill Burch and Michael Deien won fifth place with a weight of 9.02 and $252.00.
Sixth place went to Angler and youth team of Steven and Melissa Unsworth for a weight of 8.22 and a check for $144.00.
Big Bass was a tie with a weight of 5.47 for team Michael Goessmann and Lonnie Bowlin and John Winkelman and his grandson, Alec. The two teams split the pay out for first and second place 50/50 and each team received $300.00.
F.O.C.A.S. sponsor Wizard Rod awards the first place winner a $160.00 rod
each tournament. Due to the tie for Big Bass a coin toss declared Michael
Goessmann the winner of this excellent rod.
Five spouse teams and nine angler and youth teams participated in this tournament. F.O.C.A.S. has an Angler of the Year race for both partners and anglers and youth teams.
Our next tournament will be held on May 17th at Rend Lake with the launch at 6:00 a.m. Join us for this tournament.
Those of you with children, our Kid's Fishing Derby will be held on May 10th at Bellevue Park, Belleville. This event is free to the community.
